The big day has arrived for many people. Xbox fans have been waiting for this day. Bethesda fans have been waiting for this day. Even PlayStation fans who have found interest have been waiting for this day.
Starfield is finally out for Premium Edition owners. A massive achievement for the people over at Bethesda Entertainment. There seems to be one slight issue though, people can’t seem to get into the game, including myself.
Starfield’s Premium Edition Not Working
Sadly, for many Premium Edition Upgrade owners, the game doesn’t seem to be unlocking and keeps on coming up with an error that says “You’re Too Early”.
It is almost an hour after launch and people are still encountering this issue. Some people seem to have found a way to resolve it but these methods don’t seem to be working for everyone.

The main issue seems to lie with people who have purchased the Premium Edition Upgrade on Game Pass. Some people have tried deleting their Premium Edition Upgrade to see if that works and while it reportedly works for some, it doesn’t seem to be working for all.
Some other players are also just spamming the play button until it eventually lets them in, but even with that, the game then requires them to install a 100+GB update. It is most likely just the game unpacking but these are all things that should’ve been taken care of beforehand.
It’s disappointing to see a game with this much hype and a game on this big of a scale, suffer from a bad launch like this. Sadly, moments like this aren’t forgotten and are something that’s going to be brought up when talking about the game in the near future.
Bethesda is always known for its rocky launches and it seems like Starfield is no different.
How To Fix Starfield’s “You’re Too Early” Error Message
This is an issue that was taking place across Xbox and Xbox Game Pass For PC. As mentioned before, a lot of people have given their solutions but I’m going to go into detail on what has worked for me.
This might all be fixed in a couple of hours time but for the people still struggling, here’s my solution to fixing Starfield’s “You’re Too Early” problem:
- If you’re getting the “You’re Too Early” message, delete the Premium Edition Upgrade.
- Reinstall the Premium Edition Upgrade
- The game should launch unlike before but this time it will prompt you with an update.
- The game is not updating and is most likely unpacking everything, let that happen.
- The game should now launch.
If you’re still receiving the same error message on any other issues, it is best to just contact either Xbox Support or Bethesda Support to gain further help.
We at CoveredGeekly hope that everyone is able to get into the game fine and enjoy their space adventures in Starfield and we also hope this isn’t an issue that will come around when the game launches for everyone.
