Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey, released earlier this year, turned the nostalgic childhood tale into a slasher story. Although the film received mixed reviews, it impressed audiences with its gory take on the iconic characters.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey follows Pooh and Piglet, who have become feral and bloodthirsty creatures who hate humans. They go on a bloody rampage and terrorize a group of young university women and Christopher Robin when he returns to the Hundred Acre Wood many years later after leaving for college.
Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the slasher film turned out to be a financial success, earning $5 million against a low budget of $100,000. Now, its sequel is in development, and Pooh and Piglet will once again unleash terror on the public.
Here are all the details of the much-anticipated sequel to this dark reimagining of a beloved children’s tale.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Plot Details
In the first movie, the silly bear and the soft-spoken piglet become ruthless killers and go on a killing spree to hunt for Christopher Robin. This seems linked to Robin’s abandonment of Hundred Acre Woods and its creatures and the gruesome fate of Eeyore. The sequel will introduce other familiar characters like Tigger and Owl from the Hundred Acre Woods which promises a deeper storyline.
The other key character will be Cavendish who is an alcoholic with a troubled past and has ties with Christopher Robin.
In the sequel, there will be more gore and violence as Pooh and Piglet will leave the Hundred Acre Woods to wreak havoc in the small town of Ashdown.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Cast
Scott Chambers is set to play Christopher Robin, the former owner and best friend of Winnie-the-Pooh and the other creatures of the Hundred Acre Wood. Ryan Oliva(Strike Back) will star as murderous Winnie, while Peter DeSouza-Feighoney, of The Pope’s Exorcist fame, will play a young Winnie.

Although there were subtle hints that Piglet died in the first Blood and Honey instalment, he will apparently make a return in the sequel, played by Eddy McKenzie. Lewis Santer will bring fan-favourite Tigger to life, and it’s worth noting that this version of Tigger adheres to the original character released into the public domain, so he may not be an orange tiger as some might expect.
Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Release Date
As revealed exclusively on IGN, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is expected to hit theaters in February 2024. Interestingly, this release date aligns closely with the moment when Tigger, a dear friend of Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, enters the public domain. This provides the filmmakers with the opportunity to introduce another terrifying character to the story.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 arrives in theatres sometime in February 2024.
