Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Great) is set to test in person for the second round of auditions to star as the next live-action Superman for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy movie.
News that Hoult was being eyed up to take the torch from Henry Cavill broke around a month ago. Deadline broke this new update on June 8 with details that David Corenswet and Tom Brittney are also expected to audition.

Despite the auditioning news breaking on the web, director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy) stated: “he would never comment on who is or isn’t AUDITIONING for a role.”
“That’s the actor’s business only & isn’t something I’d make public unless they did it first after the fact (like @GlennHowerton or @ZacharyLevi having auditioned for Star-Lord & being top choices).”

As mentioned, there are multiple contenders to take on the role of Clark Kent aka Superman in the Superman: Legacy movie over at Warner Bros. Pictures. Nothing has been set in stone yet and the casting process for the reboot is still in the works as of writing.
DC Comics’ iconic villain Lex Luthor will also be taking the stage in Superman: Legacy. This won’t come as a surprise to most Man of Steel fans, however, casting for this role is expected to happen after the roles of Superman and Lois have been filled.
James Gunn’s Superman: The Brave and the Bold is expected to release sometime in 2025.
