Benedict Cumberbatch has provided a disheartening update on the status of the MCU's Doctor Strange 3.
Although Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness achieved commercial success, it received mixed reviews and left many unanswered questions.
In a recent conversation with The Playlist, Cumberbatch was asked whether Doctor Strange 3 will continue the storyline from Multiverse of Madness.
He seemed as uncertain as the fans, responding with, “Who knows!”
This vague update from the MCU star is indeed discouraging, suggesting that there has been little to no progress on Doctor Strange 3.
Additionally, Cumberbatch appeared equally uninformed about his role in Avengers 5.
The Sherlock star said, “We will see. We will find out. I'm not sure where he's been and what he's been up to and who with, but yeah, I know as little as you.”
Despite introducing Charlize Theron's character Clea and the concept of a Multiversal Incursion, it appears that the fans may have to wait longer for the next instalment in the Doctor Strange franchise.
It is likely that Doctor Strange 3 is not a Marvel Studios priority right now, as the studio has decided to restructure and reduce its output to prioritize quality over quantity.
Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange 3 has not been officially announced yet.
