Johnny Depp's fans are convinced he's going to appear in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice after liking an Instagram post made by the upcoming sequel's director, Tim Burton.
Depp and Burton have worked together on a wide range of classic movies, including titles such as Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Fans of the two wacky creators have long been waiting for their next team-up, with their last time working together being in 2016's Alice Through the Looking Glass.
In a post made on X (Twitter), a fan pointed out that Depp had liked Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer post on Instagram: “Johnny Depp liked the new Beetlejuice trailer on Tim Burton's Instagram.”
Rumours of Depp being cast in the upcoming sequel were broken to the internet last year.
However, no confirmation or additional information has been shared since.
It's still unclear as to if the Pirates of the Caribbean star is set to show up in the second Beetlejuice instalment, but fans are still sharing their hopes to see the iconic duo pair up once again.
One cameo confirmed by the latest Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer was none other than fellow Tim Burton alum Danny DeVito, who worked with the director and Michael Keaton in 1992's Batman Returns.
His moment in the trailer may be brief but fans were quick to spot him.

Burton's imagination could open up for a limitless number of possible Depp cameos, be it a funny ghost or even just as a voice for a less-human-looking character… such as Bob.
Only time will tell.
Tim Burton's Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to be released on September 6, 2024.
