Wesley Snipes has responded to the swirling rumours about his potential comeback as the iconic vampire hunter Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actor, known for portraying the titular character in the original Blade trilogy, addressed the speculation surrounding his involvement in the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
While the official confirmation remains elusive, Snipes acknowledged the rumour on social media without confirming or denying it.
His enigmatic response included a single word: “Whuhuuuut? 🤔” – leaving fans intrigued and speculating about the possibility of his cameo in the film.
One fan replied: “Wesley will always be blade to me, I still watch blade II.”
Another added: “Is that a confirmation?”
A third said: “Oh yes! We waiting on the OG Blade to pull up!”
A fourth chimed in with: “Thanks for the confirmation. It's up!”
The upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie features Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, with both characters transitioning from Fox's former X-Men universe into the MCU.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios has already announced that Mahershala Ali will take on the role of Blade in a separate MCU project, slated for 2025.
Directed by Yann Demange, the Blade reboot will officially introduce vampires into the MCU. This follows the Daywalker's teased debut in the second post-credits scene of Eternals.
Principal photography for the vampire film is scheduled to begin in London in the fall of 2024.
Marvel Studios' Blade reboot is scheduled to hit theatres on November 7, 2025.
