CoveredGeekly recently got to sit down and have a chat with Megamind's Eric Fogel, Brent Simons & Alan Schoolcraft – which you can watch in full via the video player above and/or on our official CoveredGeekly+ YouTube channel.
While talking to CoveredGeekly's Christopher Mills about the now-released Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate aka Megamind 2 and its 8-episode series Megamind Rules!, hopes for a potential third movie coming to theatres were touched on and teased by the creators.
When we asked the minds behind the villain turned hero that is Megamind if a third movie could potentially make its way to the big screen, both Simons and Schoolcraft seemed more than eager for this to become a reality.
CoveredGeekly: Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate sets up the follow-up show, Megamind Rules!, really well – if this does receive well with the fans and the audience, do you think that it's possible that there could be a “Megamind 3” movie that releases theatrically?
Brent Simons: That would be great!
Alan Schoolcraft: Yeah, anything is possible. Yeah… you never know.
Brent Simons: Yeah, yeah… I mean we kind of see this [Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate & Megamind Rules!] as the next chapter, you know? So, we'd love to kind of keep telling stories and there's endless stories to tell.
Although a third Megamind movie has yet to be announced by DreamWorks, both Smons and Schoolcraft seem hopeful that they can continue the story and bring him back to theatres.
Only time will tell!
Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate and Megamind Rules! are both now streaming on Peacock.
