According to information shared by Fiction Horizon, Scream 7 is set to begin filming later this year in September after the firing of Melissa Barrera and the exit of Wednesday star Jenna Ortega.
Barrera and Ortega's sister characters, Sam and Tara Carpenter, will most likely not be recast as it appears the next instalment is set to lean back into focusing on its legacy characters.
One of whom is Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott, the franchise's original main protagonist.
Courteney Cox is also set to potentially return among other rumoured castings.

It's said that Campbell herself seemingly confirmed the movie begins production later this year, which sounds likely judging by the timeline of the development of it all.
As to what this new instalment will primarily be about, in terms of plot, all that is known so far is that it's fair to assume the franchise's famous villain Ghostface will be back in some form.
As to who will be behind the mask, many fans are holding out hope for original star Matthew Lillard to make a comeback as Stu Macher who was crushed by a TV in the first movie.
Potential hints and teases in Scream 6 have been pointed out in the past to seemingly be suggesting that Stu is somehow leading an army of Ghostface fanatics, which could be revealed in Scream 7 – if fans are right.
Scream 7 hasn't got a release date yet.
