Sony Pictures' Venom franchise, set in the SSU, is officially coming to an end with the upcoming third Venom film.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman confirmed the long-standing speculations about the future of Tom Hardy's Venom series.
The executive confirmed that Venom: The Last Dance will be the “third and last Venom” movie.
Rothman said, “The third and last Venom, is going to be huge. When the last of the Spider-Verse movies comes with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it's going to be a significant event, as will the next Tom Holland Spider-Man film.”

The Venom franchise started in 2018 with mixed critical responses but was a box-office success.
Despite the mixed reviews, especially regarding tonal inconsistencies and screenplay issues, both the first and second Venom movies were commercially successful.
Venom: The Last Dance is the fifth movie in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU).
While the plot details are still under wraps, set photos suggest that the film will pick up from Eddie Brock's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The movie features a star-studded cast, including Juno Temple in a lead role, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Clark Backo.
Kelly Marcel, who penned the scripts for all three Venom movies, will make her directorial debut with the film.
Venom: The Last Dance is set to hit theatres on October 25, 2024.
