Disney's The Lion King has been treated to a hilarious recreation as a TikTok user that goes by the name “olyapenguins” took to the platform to share the movie's iconic opener… but this time, with penguins.
The scene is the part of the movie where Simba is anointed as his father King Mufasa's heir to the throne.
Watch the hilarious recreation below.
The video has already garnered millions of views and thousands of comments.
One reacted by commenting: “The penguins were paid actors, ain't no way they were just coincidentally THAT good.”
Another said: “Them penguins were paid actors.”
A third added: “10/10 perfect. Yes.”
“How was this shot for shot with penguins?!?! They're clearly paid actors!!!! I'm obsessed with this lolol!!!!,” another said.
However, not all comments were as positive as the rest, with some being against the idea of picking up penguins to create a skit for social media.
One angered commenter said: “Cool edit and everything, but I thought touching penguins was a no-no. 1 they hate it, 2 it damages their feathers and natural oils. I mean… not even wearing gloves [angry face emoji].”
In response to the above comment, a user said: “She literally works there. I think she knows what she's doing.”
Another said: “But it is sad, they are not free.”
In response, comments such as “Sometime animals can't be set free cause there so use to humans taking care of them” were added.
This video comes only days before Disney dropped today's official teaser trailer for the live-action sequel to 2019's The Lion King, this one being called Mufasa: The Lion King.
In which Donald Glover is set to reprise his role as King Simba alongside Beyoncé Knowles-Carter who returns as Queen Nala, this time with her daughter playing their child Kiara.
Mufasa: The Lion King comes to theatres on December 20th, 2024.
