She says that if Greta Gerwig asks her to do it… she might consider it.
Kristen Stewart has recently shared that she has no desire to work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a recent appearance on Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast (via Variety), Stewart revealed why she would never star in a Marvel movie at this point in time.
The Twilight star said: “I will likely never do a Marvel movie … it sounds like a f—ing nightmare, actually.”
“You would have to put so much money and so much trust into one person … and it doesn't happen.”
She added: “And so therefore what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can't feel personal at all about it. So likely not.”
Stewart pointed out that “the system would need to undergo changes,” for her to change her mind.
She added: “But maybe the world changes, that's what I'm saying. How could I tell you no when maybe one day … if Greta Gerwig asked me to do a Marvel movie, then I would do it.”
Since the Twilight series, Kristen Stewart has focused on indie films like Certain Women (2016), Seberg (2019), Happiest Season (2020), Spencer (2021), and Crimes of the Future (2022).
She also starred in the 2019 Charlie's Angels reboot and the 2020 horror film Underwater.
Kristen Stewart is next set to appear in Love Me alongside Steven Yeun, directed by Sam and Andy Zuchero.
Kristen Stewart's latest film Love Lies Bleeding is currently playing in theaters.
