Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Scream 6 will be coming out on the 10th of March, with plenty of short teases and promotional content to hype fans up for the movie. Just over a year or so since the release of the previous instalment which was just titled Scream, which was originally speculated to be due to a complete reboot.
Using the term ‘reboot’ may be applied to some aspects of the newer sequels, however, they still are staying true to the franchise’s lore and legacy characters. Which has never been clearer than what has been included in the latest, and very clever, poster for the sixth gore-fest.
New Scream 6 Poster & References
In the smart poster that was released only moments before the writing of this article, you can see that they cleverly mapped out the New York subway to resemble the face of Ghostface. However, what is even better, is the fact that they used old and new character names as the subway stops, highlighting characters from the original movie to the upcoming sequel.
If you spot the legend in the top right corner of the poster, see here if not loading, you will see that each subway line is actually referencing each Scream movie; absolutely genius. We’ve listed out each subway line’s colour and movie below, but one more fun fact to mention is that the info box says “*in construction*, hinting that there will be Scream 7.
Red = Scream 1
Green = Scream 2
Yellow = Scream 3
Orange = Scream 4
Blue = Scream 5
Purple = Scream 6
So basically, each subway line on the new poster contains every main character from the film the line is referencing, and not by using the actors’ names either. We could list every character here but you would be reading for quite a while, instead, see if you can spot any from your favourite Scream movie by using the colour info box.
Scream 6 comes out in cinemas on the 10th of March, 2023.
