Morena Baccarin has officially confirmed that she is returning as Vanessa Carlysle in Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3.
The Greenland actress was initially confirmed to be cast in the threequel earlier this year alongside Stefan Kapicic.
Speaking with Josh Wilding from ComicBookMovie to promote Fast Charlie, Baccarin was asked if the deal between her and Marvel Studios to return as Vanessa had worked out.
“It did work out,” she said. “I finished my shooting days on it already. The film is now underway again after the strike, and I think it's going to be quite good. I think fans are in for a fun surprise.”
She also confirmed that she had already finished filming her scenes for the movie.
When asked if she thought it was time for Vanessa to suit up as Copycat, Baccarin replied affirmatively but noted that she is “competing with a very large universe.”:
“I think yes. But, I think she's also competing with a very large universe.”

In the comics, Copycat is a mutant with the ability to mimic the appearance, powers, and skills of anyone she touches. She was originally a mercenary and a love interest of Deadpool but later joined X-Force as a hero.

Baccarin was also asked whether she'd like to return to the DC universe, to reprise Dr. Lee Thompkins on Gotham, or be cast in a new role.
“[There are] phenomenal characters in both universes,” Baccarin said. “I loved doing Gotham when I had the chance. I would love to [join the DCU]. For me, it's all about, you know, that strong female part.”
Baccarin is only one of the many characters returning from the Fox X-Men universe. Sabretooth and Toad have also been confirmed to be featured in the threequel.
