The first look at Disney’s live-action Stitch has finally been revealed, sort of, as new leaked set footage from the set of the 2024 Lilo & Stitch remake has surfaced online, in the form of a video, showing the stand-in reference for the iconic Elvis-loving little blue alien.
The new footage was posted today Wednesday, May 17 by a Twitter user known as Reel News Hawaii, known for sharing information on movies and tv shows being produced on the beautiful islands of Hawaii, with Lilo & Stitch being the latest reveal.
This comes from the same user who recently shared first-look set images from the live-action remake of the 2002 animated classic entitled the same name, Lilo & Stitch, originally starring Daveigh Chase as Lilo, Chris Sanders as Stitch who is set to return once again, Tia Carrere as Lilo’s big sister Nani who will also be returning for the live-action remake but not as the same character, among others.
New Set Footage Reveals Live-Action Stitch Reference
See above for an image of Stitch’s stand-in reference, a visual aid for VFX artists when working on the computer-generated version, as his stand-in dummy, which basically looks like a little Stitch plush doll, sails across the waters surrounding the islands of Hawaii.
Details as to what was being filmed have not been revealed, with the plot of the live-action adaptation being kept tightly under wraps, however, the movie should bear some similarity to the original animated version of Lilo & Stitch, just as Disney’s recent live-action remakes have done.
Lilo & Stitch is expected to release sometime in 2024 on Disney+
