Tia Carrere has officially been cast as the newly created character Mrs. Kekoa for Disney’s live-action reboot of the 2002 animated classic Lilo & Stitch, Carrere originally voiced Lilo’s sister Nani.
The casting process for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is well underway, with plenty of recent cast addition announcements being made such as newcomer Maia Kealoha joining as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani, Chris Sanders in final talks to return as the voice of Stitch, Kaipo Dudoit joining on as David, and now Carrere joining on as the new original character Mrs. Kekoa.
Fans may know Carrere from projects such as Wayne’s World, Relic Hunter, Saints Row (Video Game), True Lies, with original Lilo & Stitch fans now being treated to a live-action performance from one of the animated franchise’s main voice actors.
Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is set to be released sometime in 2024 and will exclusively premiere on their streaming platform, Disney Plus.
