Harry Potter and Doctor Who star and stage actor Simon Fisher-Becker dies aged 63

"This afternoon, Simon passed away."

British stage actor Simon Fisher-Becker has died.

Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management, Fisher-Becker’s agent, said in a statement while paying tribute to the late Harry Potter and Doctor Who actor: “Today I lost not only a client in Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years standing.”

He was 63.

“I shall never forget the phone call I made to him when he was offered the part of Dorium Moldovar in BBC’s Dr Who,” Barry continued in the statement.

“Simon was also a writer, a raconteur and a great public speaker.”

“He helped me out enormously and was kind, gracious and interested in everyone.”

“My condolences go to his husband Tony, his brother, nieces and nephews and his legion of fans,” he added.

Fisher-Becker’s husband, Tony, paid tribute to his late partner in a Facebook post: “Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband.”

“I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away.”

“I’ll be keeping this account open for a while,” he added.

“I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be posting again.”

“Thank you.”

Simon’s memorable work on the screen includes starring in BBC’s Doctor Who during its Matt Smith era, who played the Eleventh Doctor.

He played Dorium Maldovar and delivered some great dialogue.

Another performance that his fans will be familiar with is as the Fat Friar in the iconic “Harry Potter” movie franchise, which starred Daniel Radcliffe as the titular wizard.

“His stage routine was one of the funniest things I’ve heard in ages. A dear man who valued his audiences. RIP Simon, shine on,” one fan wrote online in tribute.

“My deepest sympathies to Tony and all Simon’s loved ones. Dorium was a blast in Doctor Who, Simon nailed the role!” another said.

“Really sad news. I met him at a con a few years ago and he was really lovely,” a third added.

“No way man, this is such a shame. I used to message him on Facebook and he was always lovely to talk to. He sent me an autograph a while back and would always wish me Happy Birthday every year. Going to miss him,” a fourth said in tribute.
