We implement automated rate limiting to protect the Website from abuse. Repeated failed login attempts or excessive requests to our systems may result in your IP address being temporarily blocked. This is an automated security measure and does not constitute a permanent ban.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Website at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms.
3. User Accounts
Certain features of the Website require you to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. We do not knowingly allow accounts to be created by children under 13.
4. Gamification & Community Features
CoveredGeekly operates a gamification system that rewards engagement on the Website. This includes XP (experience points), levels, trophies, challenges, streaks, a Geek Score, and a public leaderboard. By using these features, you agree to the following:
4.1 XP, Levels & Trophies
XP points, levels, trophies, and other gamification rewards are virtual, have no monetary value, and cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, or services. They exist solely to enhance your experience on the Website.
We reserve the right to adjust XP values, level thresholds, trophy criteria, challenge requirements, and any other aspect of the gamification system at any time without notice. We may also reset, correct, or remove XP or trophies if we determine they were earned through abuse, exploitation, or violation of these Terms.
A daily XP cap applies to all standard user accounts to ensure fair participation. Administrators and editors are exempt from this cap for testing purposes.
4.2 Leaderboard
Your username, display name, XP total, level, and profile picture may be displayed publicly on the site leaderboard. You can control certain aspects of your public profile visibility through your Privacy Settings.
4.3 Community & Social Features
The Website allows registered users to follow other users, view follower and following counts, and interact with other members through comments and the community section. By using these features, you agree to:
- Treat other users with respect and in accordance with our Community Guidelines
- Not follow, unfollow, or interact with other users in a harassing or abusive manner
- Accept that your username and follower/following counts may be visible to other users, subject to your privacy settings
We reserve the right to remove followers, restrict social features, or suspend accounts that misuse these features.
4.4 Geekly Rankings Voting
The Website allows visitors to vote on Geekly Rankings using an anonymous cookie-based system. Votes are stored per browser using a randomly generated identifier and persist across sessions within the same browser. Votes are non-binding, for entertainment purposes only, and do not constitute a formal poll or survey. We reserve the right to moderate, adjust, or reset votes at any time, including where we detect automated or abusive voting activity.
4.5 Notifications
Registered users receive in-site notifications for activity relevant to their account (such as new followers, comment replies, and trophy awards). You can manage your notification preferences at any time through your account settings. We do not send push notifications or SMS messages.
5. Our Content
All content published on the Website - including articles, reviews, opinion pieces, images, graphics, videos, and other materials - is provided for general information and entertainment purposes only.
While we strive for accuracy in all our content, we make no warranties or representations as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content on the Website. Content may be updated, amended, or removed at any time without notice.

By inserting a GIF into a comment, you confirm that you are using the GIF in accordance with GIPHY's terms and that the content is appropriate for our community. We are not responsible for the content of GIFs sourced from GIPHY, but we reserve the right to remove comments containing GIFs that violate our Community Guidelines.
7. Advertising & Sponsored Content
The Website displays advertising served by third-party networks, including Mediavine. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Advertisements do not constitute endorsement of the advertised products or services by CoveredGeekly.

In particular, we accept no liability for any loss of XP, trophies, leaderboard position, or other gamification progress resulting from account suspension, system errors, maintenance, or changes to the gamification system.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Website shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Website and its content - including but not limited to the CoveredGeekly name, logo, brand assets, articles, reviews, images, and design - are owned by or licensed to CoveredGeekly Limited. All rights are reserved.
