The Transformers movie franchise has had its fair share of ups and downs throughout the years, along with various attempts at breathing new life into the franchise.
However, there may still be hope for the future of the Autobots.
According to Deadline, franchise veteran Michael Bay is in talks to return for a new instalment.
New Michael Bay Transformers details

As per Deadline, Bay is officially in talks with Paramount Pictures to develop a “new version” of Transformers.
The producer, famously known for helming the beloved Shia LaBeouf-led live-action Transformers movies, has been involved in the franchise as both a director and producer.
His potential return seemingly hasn’t been set in stone yet, though.
It’s also unclear whether he will return to direct or produce, or both.
No plot or cast details have been shared.
One thing’s for sure, Paramount hasn’t given up on the franchise just yet.
Transformers One sequel still unlikely

The most recent movie in the franchise was last year’s animated Transformers One.
The movie saw a younger set of Autobots, with Thor star Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax, later known as the team’s leader Optimus Prime.
However, despite its positive reception, a sequel is unlikely due to its performance at the box office.
The animated movie grossed $129 million worldwide, with a budget of $75 million.
Given the animated flick’s performance in theatres, it could be safe to assume that a big live-action Bay-style flick is high on the priority list at Paramount.
Stay tuned for updates.
