Elizabeth Hurley says she felt ‘safe’ filming intimate scene directed by her son for new movie

Actress Elizabeth Hurley recently opened up about her experience working on her erotic thriller Strictly Confidential, directed by her 21-year-old son Damian Hurley.

The movie, which marks Damian’s feature directorial debut, features Elizabeth in a sex scene that has sparked some controversy.

The 58-year-old British actress, known for her roles in Austin Powers and Bedazzled, revealed that she felt “safe and looked-after” while shooting the more risqué sequences under her son’s direction.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, she explained that having someone she trusted behind the camera made her feel safe during the filming.

She said,  “The things that his script needed me to do weren’t necessarily things I’d always done in movies many times.

“But having him there meant that I felt safe and looked after, and I knew in (post-production) he’d look after me.”

She added that the experience was so positive, that she might consider working with family members again in the future.

She said, “So actually it’s kind of liberating to work with your family. I may do it again.”

Damian Hurley also weighed in on the matter, saying “Showbusiness has been a fundamental part of my entire life. So to us, it’s not a thing. She takes my photos, I take hers.”

While both mother and son have defended their professional relationship, social media users have slammed the arrangement as “perverse” and “shameful”.

After the scene circulated online, viewers took to different platforms to share their unease.

“Weird her son is directing her in that sex scene,” one user posted.

Another one commented, “She’s hot. But that has to be uncomfy.”

Some reactions were more severe, with one user stating, “You directed and wrote a scene with your mum having it off with another woman..? That’s f***ed”.

A different user questioned, “Why would he ever want or ask for her to do it and she agreed to it.”

Strictly Confidential follows a haunted young woman drawn into a world of seduction, duplicity, and betrayal as she tries to uncover the mystery surrounding her best friend’s suicide.

Alongside Elizabeth Hurley, the thriller also stars Lauren McQueen and Genevieve Gaunt.
