“This song is for Hailie”

Eminem announced Thursday that he is officially going to be a grandfather.

The “Lose Yourself” rapper shared the news in the official music video for his song “Temporary”, with the message behind the track being to help his daughter grieve once he is no longer here.

In the new video, a compilation shows various home videos of Eminem with his daughter Hailie (28), including footage of them both sharing a sweet moment together in celebration.

“Temporary”‘s lyrics begin with: “A lot of people ask me, am I afraid of death? / The truth is, I think what scares me the most / Is not being able to say all the things I wanna say to you / When I’m no longer here / So this song is for Hailie for when that day comes.”

Despite the lyrics already being emotional enough as it is, the music video hits even harder with footage of Eminem shocked and joyed while holding scans of his soon-to-be grandchild.

Hailie also gifts her father a shirt with the word “Grandpa” and the number “1” written on the back.

Fans of the rapper have quickly taken to the web to react to the news.

“That’s the most personal video Eminem has ever done. beautiful.. he watched his daughter get married and now she’s pregnant damn,” one wrote.

“Music video of the year, easily,” another added.

“Had me in grown man tears,” a third said.

“I just shed some tears at work watching this. Amazing,” a fourth reacted with.

Eminem’s “Coup de Grâce” album, which was released in July, marks his 12th album.

The album is closed with “Somebody Save Me”, an apology track directed to his daughters.

“Another pill as I start to spiral,” he raps in the track.

“Message to my daughters, I don’t even deserve the father title.”
