Kate Cassidy reveals her ‘chilling’ last conversation she had with One Direction star Liam Payne

One Direction singer Liam Payne tragically passed away in October 2024 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

He reportedly had several drugs in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, prescription medication and alcohol, which caused him to become aggressive and destroy his hotel room.

The singer was also involved with two prostitutes who were identified as Aldana Milagros Serrano and Lucila Marianela Goitea, who revealed they met Payne through an “escort” website.

Payne left behind a son named Bear, whom he had with Girls Aloud member Cheryl Tweedy.

He also leaves behind his girlfriend of 2 years, Kate Cassidy.

Cassidy had left Payne in Argentina two days prior to his tragic passing and returned home to Florida to take care of their rescue dog, Nala.

In a recent podcast with Jay Shetty, Kate revealed the last conversation she had with Liam before leaving, one that she described as “chilling.”

“On the last day in Argentina, my car was in the driveway,” she began.

She continued: “We went back into the guest house, grabbed my suitcase, and we were sitting on the couch and I just kept going on, and on, and on about how much I love him and how much he means to me.”

“And how much I’m going to miss him, and that I can’t wait for him to already be back in Florida.”

“Because we were starting this new chapter of our life,” she added.

“We just bought a new house, we just got a dog, we just moved to America as well.”

“I mean, I was living in England with him for two years, we just moved to my country – it was just all these new beginnings, and it was in just such a positive light.”

“So I remember sitting there with him and I was going on, and on, and on, and saying to Liam how much I love him.”

She continued, “He laughed and he interrupted me, and he just said, ‘Kate, like you’re going to miss your flight, your car’s in the driveway – you’re acting like this is the last time you’re ever going to see me again.'”

She added that she just laughed back and said to Liam, “‘I know I’m being silly.'”

“‘I need to get in the car, I can’t miss my flight.'”

“Just to even look back at it in time and just know that really was the last the last time I was able to see him again, is just so chilling, but in a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I’m so blessed.”

She then went on to explain that her “heartfelt” and “beautiful” last moment she had with Liam helped her get peace from his sudden passing.

“I’m so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together and shared that.”
