The popular TV series The Handmaid’s Tale, which first premiered in 2017, is officially in production for the sixth and final season.
It was announced yesterday Friday 6th September by Hulu with actress Elisabeth Moss holding a clapboard on Instagram.
“Guess who’s back? Production on the final season has officially started.”
#TheHandmaidsTale will return Spring 2025.”
No details have been released yet for the final season.
During an interview in 2022, executive producer and creator Bruce Miller told DigitalSpy, “We’re going to wrap it up on our own terms.”
“It’s something we never get with just the way the business is set up. And also, more importantly, not something everyone would give to the audience.”
“But I have the benefit of having had two things.”
“I have a book.”
“The book and the author is very much alive and very helpful to me,” he added.
Fans are delighted and saddened by the announcement with comments such as “finally” and a lot of “can’t wait” with many fans hoping they don’t have to wait too long.
