After James Gunn was announced as co-chief of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, fans have been eager to see how he portrays the beloved comic characters.
With the release of promotional images of David Corenswet adorning the iconic Superman costume, fans are eager to see him in action.
Fans on Threads questioned Gunn about when we will be seeing the trailer for the superhero action film, hoping it will be soon considering other films releasing at the same time have dropped their trailers.
“I am seeing Captain America Brave New World trailer, Thunderbolts trailer, Peacemaker Season 2 first look and now Mission Impossible Final Reckoning trailer and I’m like where is the Superman trailer at?”
Gunn cleared the air with his reply, reminding fans to be patient.
“It’s on my hard drive, but, seriously, all three of those projects come out months before us.”
Other commentors seemed to criticize DC fans for being impatient and stating that it’s “too much”, in which Gunn replied with sharing how he got the same treatment at Marvel too.
Superman is set to hit theatres 11th July 2025, set to be the first film in DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Gunn has shared many details on the film, exciting fans further with the remake of many peoples favorite superhero.
Producer Peter Safran shared that this version of Superman is “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way; he’s kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old fashioned.”
Director Gunn shared that Corenswet’s Clark Kent will be 25 years old, older and more developed than Tom Welling’s version in ‘Smallville (2001-2011) but younger than Henry Cavill’s DCEU version.
Other cast members include Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, who Brosnahan described as “fiercely intelligent”, a colleague of Clark’s and reporter of the Daily Planet.
Isabela Merced will star as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion and Green Lantern and Nicholas Hoult as the infamous villain Lex Luther.
