Jennifer Aniston has wrapped up filming for The Morning Show season 4 and is now shifting her focus to casting young stars for the remake of 9 to 5.

According to Life & Style, Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, and Ariana Grande are at the top of Jennifer’s list for potential casting.

The original 1980 classic featured Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin in its leading roles.

The source told the outlet, “With another season of The Morning Show in the can, Jen is focused on getting her 9 to 5 remake in shape and it’s looking increasingly like Jen will be starring in the film in addition to producing it.”

It continued, “The script is looking good and so Jen is now turning her attention to recruiting some next-generation talent into the project, and there’s only a handful of names on her list that can add to the momentum of the project.”

The source also noted that securing a “yes” from one of these actresses and bringing them on board as part of “Team Aniston” is Jennifer’s top priority right now.

Previously, another insider shared to Closer that Jennifer hoped to involve Dolly Parton in the remake, but it seems her packed schedule might make that unlikely.

The source revealed, “Jen wanted Dolly involved in a big way in the 9 to 5 remake but everybody around the project right now, which is currently seeking its director, is preparing for the reality that the only thing the movie might get from Dolly is the right to use her famous classic theme song.”

“Dolly may have said some nice things about the project in the past but Dolly is old, Dolly still works all the time, and even a small cameo or a brand new song could be asking too much.”

It previously came to light that Jennifer Aniston is now leading the charge to revive the classic 1980 film, following an earlier attempt to remake the movie in 2018 that didn’t pan out.

Back in 2018, Jane Fonda announced plans for a 9 to 5 sequel, with her, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton all slated to reprise their original roles.

This announcement came after Rashida Jones and Patricia Resnick were brought on as writers for the project.

However, by the following year, Parton revealed that the idea for the sequel had been abandoned by the trio.
