Jennifer Lawrence admits it was ‘really hard’ working with co-star Jonah Hill

"Just improv-ing insults at me."

Jonah Hill is known for his controversial comedy and ruthlessness, starring in films like 21 Jump Street, Superbad and This is the End.

Although Lawrence has also been in her fair share of comedies like 2023’s No Hard Feelings, she found working with Hill to be the most difficult.

The Hunger Games star admitted that filming with Hill was “really, really hard.”

The pair starred in Netflix’s 2021 film Don’t Look Up, with Lawrence and co-star Leonardo DiCaprio as astronomers who go on a media tour to warn the world of an approaching comet.

Hill starred as Jason Orlean, the White House Chief of Staff, a witty character who starred alongside Meryl Streep as the President.

The film is stacked with an A-lister cast, from Dicaprio and Cate Blanchett to Ariana Grande, Timothee Chalamet and Chris Evans.

The 34-year-old actress shared that “It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing.”

In reminiscing about shooting the film, Lawrence praised Hill’s comedy.

“We one-time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me.”

“It was amazing,” she told Vanity Fair.

“I mean, he’s just a comedic master.”

“I mean we all did some [improv] just not as well as Jonah.”

“He and Meryl were the only ones who should do that kind of improv.”

Lawrence has currently taken a break from acting, now pregnant with her second child with husband and director Cooke Maroney.

Lawrence was the first person born in the 1990s to win an Oscar and is hailed as one of the biggest actresses of this generation.

Don’t Look Up became Netflix’s second-biggest film, grossing nearly $800,000 million worldwide.
