Megan Fox reveals why she was fired and dropped from Hollywood before making her comeback

"I was so self-righteous at 23."

Megan Fox has been recently in the spotlight following her high-profile breakup with Machine Gun Kelly, which came just weeks after she announced her pregnancy.

For those who may not know, Fox was once pushed to the sidelines in the film industry after making a controversial remark about the Transformers director Michael Bay.

Fox rose to fame with her role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers (2007) but she was fired from the sci-fi franchise after openly slamming the director.

The turning point came after an interview with Wonderland magazine, where Fox compared Bay’s directing style to Adolf Hitler.

She said at that time, “He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.”

“So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward.”

Fox, who played Mikaela Banes in the first two films, was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the third instalment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Her remarks shocked fans and reportedly angered both Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

According to Bay, Spielberg insisted that Fox be fired immediately after hearing the comments.

Bay recalled, “You know the Hitler thing. Steven said, ‘fire her right now.'”

Despite the public perception that she was fired, Fox’s representatives claimed she left the franchise voluntarily.

They stated she was grateful for her experience but chose not to return for the third film.

However, many believe her unfiltered remarks and refusal to apologize played a major role in her exit.

Looking back, Fox described that period as a low point in her career.

She admitted that her unwillingness to apologize was driven by youthful stubbornness.

She later told Cosmopolitan UK, “But without — ‘that thing,’ I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did. All I had to do was apologize — and I refused.”

“I was so self-righteous at 23, I couldn’t see [that] it was for the greater good. I really thought I was Joan of Arc.”

Over time, she rebuilt her career, taking on new projects and even reuniting with Bay for the 2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot and its sequel.

Fox’s latest film is Subservience, in which she plays an advanced AI robot designed to assist with household tasks.

Alice becomes increasingly possessive and dangerous, leading to a tense confrontation with the family she serves.
