Transformers star Shia LaBeouf is reportedly eyeing to return as Sam Witwicky in the next live-action instalment of the franchise.
According to a fan (via BR Studios) who attended Steel City Con this month, where the actor made an appearance, LaBeouf seemingly confirmed he is “working” on reprising his role.
While at the event, LaBeouf reunited with legendary Transformers voice actors Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, which he shared in a social post captioned: “ROLL OUT!!!”

Interestingly, Michael Bay is also said to be returning to direct a new Transformers movie at Paramount, the same director of the beloved LaBeouf-led trilogy.
According to the fan, who claims to have interacted with the actor at the event, LaBeouf revealed that he’s “working on it” and “should be in the next Transformers movie.”
The fan claims to have told the Fury star to “keep making awesome movies”, to which LaBeouf responded: “More of these?”
The fan then claims: “I paused and pointed to my shirt, ‘wait, [the Transformers] franchise? You’re coming back?’, and he said, ‘I’m working on it.'”
However, it should be noted that there have been no reports as of writing that LaBeouf is in talks to return as Sam… In fact, there have been very few updates on the next movie in general.
Regardless, the news seems to have given Transformers hope.

“If this does work out… It will be the biggest Transformers movie of all time,” one fan wrote.
“I would legit cry if he came back,” another added.
“I would EXPLODE if this actually happens,” a third wrote.
“Michael Bay is back, Sam is back. I can’t wait for them to plan the latest Bayverse movie,” one of many other fans commented.
If anything, it’s clear that those who haven’t lost hope in the franchise are happy with the idea of Bay and LaBeouf relighting their iteration of the franchise.
