Vin Diesel divides fans by claiming ‘Los Angeles needs’ Fast X Part 2 ‘now more than ever’ amid wildfire aftermath

The Fast & Furious franchise is over two decades old, with multiple films, a series and video games.

Frontman Vin Diesel has shared that the franchise will return to its roots in Los Angeles.

The franchise has been victim to online trolling in recent years over the extravagant and unrealistic turns the films started to make, so Diesel’s comment sparked interest in old fans.

Diesel also shared how this wasn’t the main factor in going back to the film’s original setting.

“Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA.”

“Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love…”

Diesel shared the discussion on his Instagram with a picture of him and his on screen sister Jordana Brewster hugging.

Although through good intentions, some believed this should have been the franchises’ direction in the first place.

“It should’ve been ‘default’ choice for the final one,” one fan wrote.

“And hopefully it goes back to good old street racing not driving cars in space,” another added.

However, some thought the franchise’s involvement was poor timing from the actor.

“This is how tone deaf Hollywood is,” one criticized.

“Please don’t trivialize real life devastation with your stupid fu**ing movie.”
