Alien fans are convinced new Alien Earth teaser features Predator’s iconic ‘clicking noise’ effect

Alien fans are becoming increasingly eager to watch the franchise’s upcoming spinoff series, Alien Earth, which has its fandom speculating the arrival of a fellow sci-fi icon.

In at least two promotional teasers for the series, a noise resembling a Predator’s terrifying clicking, also known as Yautja, can be heard.

However, no official word on whether Predators will be returning to the Alien franchise anytime soon has been said besides the odd hopes now and then.

The sound, that some fans believe to be a Predator, can be heard in the latest teaser for Alien Earth, which comes to Hulu on Disney+ this summer.

Although the noise could technically be coming from one of the titular monstrous villains in the show, it’s fair to say that it also sounds similar to a Predator.

Fans of the two franchises got to see the two iconic creatures battle in 2004’s divisive Alien vs. Predator, then again in 2007’s sequel, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.

However, the two haven’t shared the screen since, despite both being moderately successful at the global box office.

In the end, it all came down to how die-hard fans felt about the direction of the crossover, with most believing that it wasn’t living up to its true potential.

Recent projects on the other hand, such as 2022’s Prey and last year’s Alien: Romulus, have fans beginning to wonder if maybe now is the time to get things going again.

“This the second time they’ve incorporated that clicking bro,” one fan wrote.

“They GOTTA be teasing a predator especially since this clicking sounds original and new, I hope we see sum or maybe like a new pred-alien,” they added.

“If Alien Earth ended up being an AvP prequel I’d be so stoked,” another said on the matter.

“I heard it in the last trailer,” a third supported.

“I thought that but could be the predecessor alien noise,” one said, adding how the noise could have nothing to do with Predator.

“Would be cool to randomly throw in the Predators, but if u recall the baby neomorphs in Alien Covenant made the same noise as soon as they were born/spawned,” another added.

Either way, Disney, the fans have spoken.
