Actress Anne Hathaway has officially confirmed that she will be returning to Genovia as Princess Mia Thermopolis for Disney’s third Princess Diaries movie.
Today on the 4th of October the actress shared a clip on the social media platform Instagram, in which she shared her reaction to the news that a new movie was being made.
It showed clips of the first and second movies of The Princess Diaries franchise, with the star counting from one to three with her fingers.
“Miracles happen ✨👑 Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues❤️🔥,” Hathaway captioned the post.
The last movie was made in 2004, titled The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
It has yet to be revealed whether actress Julie Andrews will return as her on-screen character.
Fans are still hoping they will see both return together for the new movie.
“Please invite Julie back,” one fan wrote.
Disney+’s account also replied to Hathaway’s post, “Welcome back Queen of Genovia”.
It is unknown what the third movie will be about as no details have been revealed.
However, some are speculating we will see her have a family life – including children and possibly passing the torch down to them, showing them the royal way just as she had to experience.
