The Princess Diaries star Anne Hathaway has received a fair share of public criticism over the years, with terms such as “annoying” and “not genuine” being thrown around online.
Kjersti Flaa, the interviewer who went viral following an interview with Blake Lively, posted a disastrous interview from 2012 in which she asked Hathaway to “sing” the answers to her questions.
However, Hathaway refused, which led to a seemingly very awkward interview.
During the Junket for the 2012 movie Les Misérables, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe were very keen to join in on Flaa’s fun request.
However, with a nervous laugh, Hathaway said, “Well I won’t be doing that, but you’re welcome to sing.”
“Yep, Anne Hathaway was not very excited to sing to me,” Flaa explained.
She continued to explain that the Interview had just gone “completely downhill” after that awkward moment.
Flaa opens up on how she felt Hathaway was very “dismissive” of her, before showing clips of the Brokeback Mountain star responding with “no” to multiple questions after the awkward moment.
Flaa went on to say that she felt Hathaway “hated her.”
Flaa, however, revealed that on her podcast Flaawsome Talk – posted on the 8th of October – Hathaway did personally reach out to her.
“Yesterday, I did receive an email,” she explained.
“It was from Hathaway’s publicist, and he forwarded a message to me from Anne Hathaway.”
“I have to say, I was pretty shocked,” she added.
“I had not expected her to reach out to me at all.”
“I thought she was never gonna even see that video. But she did. And she did something pretty amazing.”
She continued that Hathaway had sent her a lengthy email explaining that she was going through some personal stuff and talking about it makes her “teary-eyed.”
They had both decided to not reveal what was personally said to her in the email but she was very “grateful” that she did that.
