Blumhouse announce Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 release date along with first look at Toy Freddy

Blumhouse has officially announced the release date for its live-action Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, along with sharing a first look at Toy Freddy.

The sequel to the studios’ 2023 smash hit officially drops on December 5, 2025.

News of the sequel’s release date follows its star Matthew Lillard, who plays antagonist William Afton, confirming filming for the movie was set to begin soon.

Blumhouse shared the post on social media, captioned: “He always comes back.”

Fellow Five Nights at Freddy’s movie star Josh Hutcherson, who plays protagonist Mike Schmidt, previously teased that the upcoming sequel will be “bigger” and “scarier” than the first.

“There’s more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way,” he teased.

“We’re finding the balance right now of building this world and expanding it in a really cool way but also making sure the characters stay really grounded.”

“It’s so over-the-top and wacky, in a way, that to find the emotional truth of the characters was gonna be what was gonna work.”

Announcing the sequel’s release date with a solid look at Toy Freddy makes sense as the animatronic made his first appearance in the second instalment of the original video game series.

However, not much else has been shared in terms of plot and casting details, but fans are fairly certain the events of the sequel will somewhat follow the events of the original lore.

Returning stars include Lillard as William Afton aka Springtrap, Hutcherson as Mike Schmidt, Elizabeth Lail as Afton’s daughter Vanessa, and Piper Rubio as Mike Schmidt’s little sister Abby.

It’s expected more information on the sequel will be shared throughout 2025.
