Skeet Ulrich seemingly confirmed to be playing major Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 role

Matthew Lillard is seemingly set to star alongside his Scream co-star once again in Blumhouse’s upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie, which releases this December 5.

After months of rumours, it appears that Ulrich will indeed be playing a major role in the live-action video game adaptation sequel, as a book created by the man behind the games seems to have confirmed it.

Although his role has yet to be announced, it has previously been speculated that the Scream icon will be playing Fazbear Entertainment co-founder Henry Emily.

The news comes from an upcoming book created by Scott Cawthon and Cala Spinner, titled “The Art and Making of Five Nights at Freddy’s 1 and 2”, which has yet to be released.

With the book’s publisher being Scholastic Canada Ltd, it appears that an early listing of the book has already been added to Amazon’s Canadian domain with a release date of August 1st, 2026.

However, it’s the overview description of the book that has caught attention amongst the fandom, as Ulrich’s name is listed as one of the seemingly more important cast members.

Despite there being various cast members returning for the second instalment, it interestingly chooses to highlight three of them – Ulrich being one of them.

“The official behind-the-scenes book to the making of both Five Nights at Freddy’s movies!” the overview begins to read.

“The hugely anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel from director Emma Tammi starring Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games series, The Disaster Artist), and Skeet Ulrich (Scream) premieres only in theaters on December 5th, 2025,” it adds.

Ulrich’s name being present alongside Lillard and Hutcherson, who play William Afton and Mike Schmidt, respectively, further adds fuel to the speculation that he is set for a major role.

Jason Blum and his horror house are typically known for keeping secrets up their sleeves, especially when it comes to major franchises such as Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Despite there being a book out there seemingly confirming Ulrich’s involvement, don’t expect any confirmation just yet from the studio itself.

It’s likely that an official first reveal will come via the sequel’s official trailer, which will most likely drop sometime closer to release.

The first instalment went on to make a whopping $291 million worldwide with a reported budget of $20 million -$36 million, despite being launched on streaming on the same day as release.

So, expect Blumhouse to go even bigger and louder with this one.
