Chris Pratt’s Terminal List character being eyed for major movie adaptation

The world of The Terminal List is seemingly heading to the big screen.

In 2022, Prime Video brought audiences into James Reece’s gritty world of covert ops and payback in The Terminal List.

Now, the action thriller is back with a new chapter: The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.

This time, the story shifts from Chris Pratt’s Navy SEAL commander to Taylor Kitsch’s Ben Edwards, who we last saw in the first series.

Dark Wolf draws from Jack Carr’s novel True Believer and kicks off the next phase in the franchise’s planned expansion.

Series creator Carr recently shared that he has big plans to take Pratt’s James Reece to the big screen.

Speaking to ComicBook, Carr said his third James Reece novel, Savage Son, would be the perfect candidate for a film adaptation.

“Savage Son really lends itself to a film,” he explained.

“We can always do it as a series, but it really lends itself, out of all the books, to a film. I would love to see us experiment with that and bring something to the big screen.”

Carr described watching Dark Wolf’s first episodes in a packed theatre and said the experience convinced him that Reece’s world could thrive in cinemas.

He added, “We are essentially making movies that people watch on television. To actually do one that’s made for the big screen would be incredible.”

Savage Son follows Reece as he recovers from brain surgery in Montana after the events of True Believer.

His quiet retreat ends when the Russian mafia and a rogue CIA officer put a bounty on his head, triggering a brutal chase across rugged wilderness led by a sadistic Russian operative.

The movie idea fits right in with Chris Pratt’s goal of creating a Jack Carr cinematic universe alongside the Prime Video series.

While the film is still in the early talks stage, fans have plenty to look forward to.

Dark Wolf, premiering August 27, delivers an original prequel story co-created by Carr, a first for the franchise.
