Daniel Craig reveals which James Bond movie he says was a ‘f***ing nightmare’ to work on

The 56-year-old English Actor looked back on his time as the iconic James Bond.

Although the franchise solidified him as an acting legend, Craig wasn’t so fond of his second film, Quantum of Solace.

Craig recalled the 2008 film as “difficult” in a recent interview.

Craig explained how the 2007 to 2008 Writers Guild of America strike had interrupted production.

He described it as a “f***ing nightmare.”

“Paul Haggis did a pass on the script. Then, he went off and joined the picket line, and we didn’t have writers. So, we didn’t have a script.”

“We should never probably have started production, but we did. I ended up writing a lot of that film, which I probably shouldn’t say. I do not want the credit. It’s fine.”

Although the film was a box office hit making almost $600 million, critics and audience reviews believed it to be the worst of Craig’s five film contract as Bond.

Quantum of Solace was directed by Marc Forster and starred Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Giancarlo Giannini, David Harbour, Jeffrey Wright and Judi Dench.

“The storytelling wasn’t there,” Craig continued.

“That’s the abject lesson. Going to start a movie without a script is not a good idea.”

The actor, who is now promoting his new erotic film, Queer, shared how he had hesitations about a character so fitted to its traditions.

“I would say one of my biggest reservations about playing [Bond] would be the construct of masculinity. It was often very laughable, but you can’t mock it and expect it to work.”

“You have to buy into it.”

“I mean, the vulnerability of human beings is always very interesting to me.”

“We’re all vulnerable.”

“It doesn’t matter who you are.”

“It doesn’t matter how tough you are, everybody’s vulnerable. But it’s how boys are brought up, how men are expected to behave.”
