With James Gunn’s highly anticipated DC universe kickstarting this summer with Superman, many fans have been eager to see who will be cast as the vigilante of Gotham.
Speculations have reached far and wide, from Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles to Man of Steel star Henry Cavill.
However, Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson has also been voted by fans as one of the best choices.
Although there is a large debate about who would be better, Ackles or Ritchson, some have been convinced by the slice of Batman that Ritchson gave in 2014.
When voice acting for the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, Ritchson’s character Rafael did the “Batman voice” to intimidate April O’Neil.
As the clip resurfaced showing Ritchson’s portrayal, fans in the comments agreed that he would be the perfect choice.
“If they actually cast him as Batman, this will be the best foreshadowing of all time,” one wrote.
“Alan Ritchson’s size would make him a pretty convincing non-metahuman crime fighter. dude build like a tank, no super power needed,” another added.
“Alan Ritchson really is the perfect choice for Batman, he’s got the physical build of Batman, plus after watching Jack Reacher we know he can play the detective role while being stoic and compassionate.”

Ritchson has not shied away from the claims and speculation, sharing how much he would love to play that role.
“I get asked every day if I’m playing Batman,” he told WIRED.
“Yeah, would I play Batman? Yes,” he added.
“Would I pay handsomely to be Batman?”
“You wouldn’t even have to pay me to be Batman.”
“I would, yeah, I would don the suit. ‘Gotham is mine.’ Look at that. I don’t even have to practice. It just comes out naturally.”
The 42-year-old is currently receiving appraisal for his role as Jack Reacher in the hit Prime series ‘Reacher’ with its third season currently out.
Nothing has been officially stated by James Gunn or anyone else working on the new DCU about who will take on the mantle of the Dark Knight, but their is no doubt that fans are eager for the announcement.
