Actor Dennis Quaid thinks his son Jack is going to do better than him and mother Meg Ryan

"We got Jack Quaid out of it..."

The famous couple of the 1990s Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan who married in 1991 shook the celebrity world with their split in 2000.

They were known as one of the ‘Power Couples’ who went on to have a son named Jack Quaid, who has become a well-known actor with roles such as Hughie in Prime Video’s The Boys.

They divorced over alleged infidelity on both sides, around the same time of their split, actress Meg Ryan was seen getting cosy with Gladiator star Russell Crowe.

However, Meg insisted Russell wasn’t to blame for their “unhealthy marriage.”

During a recent appearance on Who’s talking to Chris Wallace, the Breaking Away star Dennis was asked if fame had put a strain on the pair’s relationship.

“When I met Meg I was here as far as career thing and she was here and then it just went like that,” Dennis said.

“I tried to be a big person and tell myself that didn’t bother me, but people are human,” he added.

He explained that when Meg’s career was ascending, he went into rehab in the 90s and it grew a wedge inbetween the couple.

Quaid praised his ex-wife: “Meg is really such a great, sweet person and really talented and deserved all her success.”

“I don’t regret anything about my marriage to Meg.”

“We got Jack Quaid out of it who is really going on to maybe eclipse both of us,” he added.

Jack currently stars as Hughie Campbell in the aforementioned live-action series adaptation of The Boys, with the show just premiering its fourth and penultimate season on Prime Video.

Season 5 of the hit series is set to be the final season of the main series, however, spinoffs such as Gen V will be how the franchise continues on – with the potential for characters such as Hughie to return.
