Ewan McGregor admits to using intimacy coordinator for raunchy scenes with his wife

Star Wars veteran Ewan McGregor has admitted to needing intimacy coordinators on set while filming sex scenes with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

The Kenobi star revealed the fact while talking with Radio Times earlier this year.

Stating that, despite already being married, the coordination was “still necessary” for filming.

“It’s still necessary, because it’s also about the crew, and it’s odd to be naked in front of people, it’s odd to be intimate in front of the camera,” McGregor began to explain.

“If you were doing a dance scene, you’d have a choreographer,” he added.

“It’s an important part of the work now because it’s somebody that the director and actors meet in the middle,” he continued.

The scenes in question were for the couple’s new drama series, A Gentleman in Moscow.

McGregor and Winstead married in 2022, both now being Star Wars stars.

The two share a son together, Laurie, who was born the previous year.

Intimacy coordinators are there to lend support to actors who are preparing to film any sort of intimate scenes with one another, which can be daunting to anyone when having to do so in front of other people – let alone cameras.
