First look at Armie Hammer in The Dark Knight revealed as he attempts action genre comeback

ByVinay Sharma

Armie Hammer is set to make his silver screen return with Uwe Boll’s latest vigilante thriller, The Dark Knight.

The actor’s bright career was derailed back in 2021 after multiple women accused him of emotional abuse and violent sexual fantasies, including disturbing claims about cannibalism.

Uwe Boll’s upcoming thriller, which is unrelated to Christopher Nolan’s 2008 film of the same name, stars Armie Hammer in the lead role, and a first-look image from the film has just been released.

Currently filming in Zagreb, Croatia, The Dark Knight follows Hammer’s character, Sanders, a man who takes justice into his own hands, becoming a social media sensation in the process.

However, while the public sees him as a hero, Interpol officer Henry, played by Costas Mandylor, is determined to stop him.

This marks Mandylor’s second collaboration with Boll after Run, the director’s previous feature, in which the actor played a mob boss alongside Amanda Plummer, James Russo, and Ulrich Thomsen.

Run recently completed post-production and is in negotiations for a U.S. release.

Boll expressed his enthusiasm about working with Mandylor again.

He said in a statement, “We’re very happy to add Costas Mandylor to our cast, who is playing Interpol officer Henry.”

“To see him acting opposite Armie Hammer is truly a pleasure.”

Executive producer Michael Roesch also praised the actor, adding, “We already enjoyed working with Costas on our last movie Run and couldn’t be happier to have him back.”

“His vibrant performance adds so much to the movie.”

In addition to the film, The Dark Knight is being developed into a video game in collaboration with game studio Polygon Art, further expanding its multimedia presence.

Post-production for The Dark Knight is already underway at Tunnel Post in Santa Monica, with Boll’s longtime editor Ethan Maniquis working on the first cut.
