Foo Fighters cancels music festival concert amid ongoing backlash over Dave Grohl’s marriage

ByVinay Sharma

Fans of the band weren’t too happy with the news.

Foo Fighters have officially cancelled their scheduled performance at Soundside Music at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut.

The cancellation comes shortly after frontman Dave Grohl revealed he recently fathered a child outside of his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum.

The band made the announcement in a statement on Instagram.

“Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information.”

No further details were provided regarding the reason for their withdrawal from the festival, and the post’s comments were turned off.

The cancellation didn’t come as a shock to some fans, who questioned why “it took them so long” to make the announcement.

However, others who bought tickets specifically to see Dave Grohl and the band expressed frustration after the festival’s account updated the lineup.

An upset ticket buyer wrote, “Oh. Are you excited??? Cause I need a refund.”

A second user quipped, “Guys be respectful, Dave’s on Paternity Leave okay.”

Another one vented his rage, “Unacceptable. We’ve known about the whole Dave Grohl bs for a couple weeks now. To tell us this a couple days before is pretty f****d up.”

A fan even remarked, “Baby mama drama for Dave already???”

Grohl’s shocking revelation came in a statement posted on Instagram earlier this month, where he disclosed that he had become a father again with a child born outside his marriage.

He expressed his commitment to being a “loving and supportive parent” while also seeking forgiveness from his wife and children.

Grohl wrote on Instagram, “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”.

The Foo Fighters, who recently wrapped up their “Everything or Nothing at All” tour, currently have no upcoming live dates listed.

The band has been a staple in rock music since forming in 1994, following Grohl’s tenure as drummer for Nirvana.
