Famous rock band, Green Day, has been banned from multiple Las Vegas radio stations following the group’s frontman labelling the city as “the worst s**thole in America.”
Billie Joe Armstrong, the singer of Green Day, made the divisive remark when performing live with the band on September 20 at Oracle Park Stadium in San Francisco.
In addition, he also slammed Oakland A’s owner, John Fisher, for relocating the Major League Baseball team to Las Vegas.

“We don’t take s**t from people like f–king John Fisher… I hate Las Vegas,” Armstrong told the crowd.
He proceeded to double down on his hot take, saying that Las Vegas is “the worst s**thole in America.”
In response to his statement, Armstrong was immediately banned by multiple radio stations in Las Vegas.
KOMP 92.3 took to Instagram to announce, on September 25, that they would no longer be playing any Green Day or Billie Joe Armstrong tracks.
“KOMP 92.3 has pulled any and all Green Day from our playlist. It’s not us, Billie…it’s you. #vegas4ever”
X107.5, another Las Vegas station, shared on Instagram: “BYE BYE, BILLIE.”
“After Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong disrespected Las Vegas, we’re pulling the plug on ALL of their music. No more Green Day on X107.5,” they wrote in a post also shared on September 25.
Carlota Gonzalez, the station’s host, announced live on air that she would be ridding all music from the group from the radio station.

“Maybe [Armstrong] should take a look at the city and the people involved in that transaction than talking SMACK about the city of Las Vegas,” Gonzalez said.
“And hey, I hate to say it and as much as the Raiders suck but when they were in Oakland, they were worth a billion or two,” she added.
“Now they’re worth six.”
“It was a good business decision and the A’s want some of that and I don’t blame that.”
She continued: “We’re not perfect, but that’s what makes Las Vegas amazing. We are accepting of all kinds of life.”
“We are the home to people who are simply awe-striking and push the boundaries of normality.”
