During a 2018 panel, Monsters actor Javier Bardem was applauded by the public for shutting a distasteful, sexist question regarding his wife.
Javier and his well-known wife, Penélope Cruz, starred alongside each other in a movie called Everybody Knows.
The couple, who have been together for 17 years, have worked with each other on several movies, including Jamón Jamón where they first met each other.
The couple have chosen to keep their relationship quite private over the years and have gained a significant amount of respect from the public, so it’s no surprise Javier got a round of applause for his clap back.
His viral response came after a journalist off-camera questioned Bardem, “How do you feel being the only man in the world who enjoys working with his wife?”
As there was some nervous awkward laughter from the crowd, the Pirates of the Caribbean star gave one simple powerful response back, “The question is of extremely bad taste.”
Users on TikTok were divided in their response, with one stating: “That was funny though, as in no husband likes working with their wife.”
However, another said: “I just got second-hand embarrassment for that dude, what an awful question.”
“The real problem is that the journalist felt way too comfortable saying that,” a third chimed in with.
