More than 15 years after its release, Jennifer’s Body may be making a comeback.
Amanda Seyfried recently hinted that discussions about a sequel are happening, though she stopped short of making it official.
At a Toronto screening of her new movie Seven Veils (via ScreenRant), Seyfried teased fans with an update.
“I think we’re making another one,” she said in a newly surfaced video.
When pressed for confirmation, she responded with a wink, adding, “I didn’t confirm it! I said, ‘I think.’ We’re working on it.”
Last year, screenwriter Diablo Cody also expressed hope for Jennifer’s Body 2 in an interview with Bloody Disgusting.
Following the release of her horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein, she suggested that its success might help push a sequel forward.
She earlier said, “I am not done with Jennifer’s Body.”
“I just need to find… I need to partner with people who believe in it as much as I do, and that hasn’t really happened yet.”
“I need someone to believe in it who has a billion dollars.”
Originally directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, Jennifer’s Body centres on a high schooler named Jennifer Check (Megan Fox), who becomes possessed by a demon and has to kill and eat her male classmates to stay alive.
Amanda Seyfried plays her insecure friend, Anita “Needy” Lesnicki, who remains close to Jennifer despite their differences.
While the film struggled at the box office in 2009, it has since gained a cult following.
Jennifer’s Body cast also includes Johnny Simmons, J.K. Simmons, Amy Sedaris, and Adam Brody.
