JoJo Siwa’s mother, Jessalynn, has shared her reaction to the recent controversy that involved her daughter receiving some hurtful words from actor Mickey Rourke.
Rourke and JoJo both made their Celebrity Big Brother debut earlier this month.
The British reality show consists of plonking a tonne of relatively well-known celebrities into one big house together, in which they live while being recorded for public entertainment.
However, Rourke was asked to leave the house after making some controversial and hurtful comments directly to JoJo regarding her sexuality, among other things.

JoJo’s mother took to Instagram to share her reaction to watching it all unfold.
“I’m not surprised,” she began.
“I’m not surprised he didn’t go home,” she continued. “I knew he wouldn’t.”
“I’m really sad, though, that I sent my kid – and she is my kid, I am her mum, she is my kid – to a foreign country to do a TV show and she got treated like that.”
“Right away, right out of the gate.”
“I think she handled it great,” she added.
“I think that everyone has told me, ‘She handled herself so well’ [but] it doesn’t make it okay… it doesn’t make it right.”
“I’m just lucky she can handle herself.”
“I’m just lucky she is okay.”

“I watch her, I watch her on the live feed,” she went on.
“I watch her and the rest of the scenes from the show.”
“I think she looks great.”
“I think she looks like she’s doing what she always does.”
“I mean, come on, it’s kind of become a culture, it’s become a game, it’s a trend: ‘Let’s not like her. Let’s hate her. Let’s make fun of her. Let’s tell her she’s a bad dancer. Tell her she can’t sing.'”
“‘Now, tell her you’ll make her not a lesbian.’ What’s next?”
“Why don’t you just take her at face value?”
