The 1994 action-thriller film starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunites with director Jan de Bont to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary.
The celebratory screening and Q&A as a part of Beyond Fest in Hollywood had Reeves sharing how the cast was “under-informed” about a particular stunt day.
“When we were crashing through all the cars on the street. I remember we were a little under-informed. We were all on the bus and then we were driving down by San Diego or something.”
“We were set by the ocean and all of a sudden, we’re actually hitting cars. Boom! Boom!”

The film follows Reeves’ character as a young police officer who is tasked with preventing a bomb from exploding on a city bus.
“Everyone on their bus lost their mind. People were screaming.”
Bullock also made comments about the rest of their cast mates, including Beth Grant, Hawthorne James and Alan Ruck.
“We had different walks of life, but they all needed to be in that place to make the story believable.”
The Blind Side actor also shared how “amazing” Grant was when getting run over by a bus, “like a champ.”

De Bont was moved by rewatching his film, reminded of the chemistry between the actors and how they aided his career.
“When I saw the movie here [tonight], I’ve never been so proud of those two actors, what they did for me — quite often unnatural to them what they had to do — is just unbelievable.
“The relationship that these two created together is absolutely amazing.”
“Seeing them back on the screen tonight, it was so realistic.”
“They were absolutely perfect. All the emotions were right, all the laughing was right, all the smiling, the little smooching. It was really, really cool.”
“I had to tell them how great they both were.”
With Reeves making his best impression of people screaming on the streets and on the bus from their stunts, he left the audience laughing.
