Margot Robbie reveals she never knew her husband was in Harry Potter until after marriage

Margot Robbie had no idea her husband was in Harry Potter movies.

Margot Robbie, a self-proclaimed huge Harry Potter fan, had no idea her husband, Tom Ackerley, had appeared in the films.

The Barbie star, who married Ackerley in 2016 after meeting him on the set of Suite Française in 2013, later joked that she might have married him even faster had she known about his Harry Potter cameo.

In a resurfaced interview on The Graham Norton Show, Robbie revealed her deep love for the series, saying, “When it comes to Harry Potter, I’m a massive, massive nerd.”

The audience even got a laugh from a photo of a 12-year-old Robbie sporting Harry Potter glasses and holding one of the books.

Robbie shared that, as a kid, she had lied about needing glasses just to have a pair like Harry’s.

Surprisingly, she didn’t find out until after she and Ackerley tied the knot that he had actually been an extra in the movies.

He had played a Slytherin student in the first three films.

Recalling when Ackerley first told her about it, Robbie humorously said, “I was like, ‘Had you told me sooner we would’ve been married very quickly!’”

“He was an extra when he was a little kid – he was one of the Slytherin extras when Draco pushes some kids out of the way to see Buckbeak in the third book. He pushes my husband out of the way.”

Ackerley wasn’t just a cameo in The Prisoner of Azkaban—he also appeared as a Hogwarts student in The Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets.

Fans took to social media to express their delight over the revelation, with many finding the coincidence both charming and endearing.

A user commented, “HE BETTER BE TELLING “MY WIFE IS HARLEY QUINN & BARBIE” TO EVERYONE!”

Another fan chimed in, “The truth is that everyone played the video twice to see him.”

A third fan wrote, “She’s an ACTRESS, and she’s showing off her husband being an extra in a movie.”

“Who would have thought that Slytherin Whimp #3 would end up marrying Margot Robbie,” another one quipped.
