After months of uncertainty, there’s finally some good news for fans of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
The long-awaited The Batman Part 2 has officially received a positive update on its filming schedule.
The Batman 2 production update

According to a new listing on ProductionList.com, the sequel has officially entered pre-production, and as confirmed by Warner Bros., filming will begin next Spring.
It is expected that production will take place at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London.
The update reveals that department leads are currently being hired across production design, makeup, stunt coordination, VFX, and more.
The Leavesden site has been described as ideal for “Gotham’s gritty transformation” with large-scale soundstages and set-building capabilities.
While Warner Bros. is keeping plot details under wraps, the listing also offers a brief glimpse at what can be expected from the sequel.
The Batman 2 plot information

According to the listing, “The sequel explores Gotham’s slow recovery from the devastating flood caused by the Riddler in the previous film, tackling themes of societal division, power dynamics, and moral ambiguity.”
“Reeves has described Batman’s new journey as operating in a more complex and ‘greyer’ world — raising the stakes for character-driven tension and visual storytelling.”
The sequel, which is set to release on October 1, 2027, picks up after the events of 2022’s The Batman, which starred Pattinson as a younger, moodier Caped Crusader and earned $772.3 million at the global box office.
That film launched what director Matt Reeves has dubbed the Batman Epic Crime Saga, which has since expanded with Max’s The Penguin spin-off, led by Colin Farrell.
In the upcoming sequel, Pattinson will be back as Bruce Wayne, joined once again by Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
Barry Keoghan is also expected to return as the Joker, although Warner Bros. hasn’t officially confirmed his role just yet.
