Ugly Betty actor Eric Mabius arrested for battery after allegedly ripping out ‘fistfuls’ of woman’s hair in bar altercation

A spokesperson has since spoken out on the matter.

Eric Mabius (53), known for starring in Resident Evil and Ugly Betty, has been arrested.

The actor was booked on two misdemeanour charges on Thursday, February 20, after being arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office at around 2 a.m.

He was booked into the Florida Nassau County Jail and Detention Centre around 5:45am.

People confirmed the incident that caused the arrest.

The actor faces a battery charge as well as resisting arrest without violence, both being classed as misdemeanours.

He now awaits trial.

His mugshot shows that he has a black eye on the right side of his face, implying that there could have been a physical altercation.

However, it is unclear if he obtained the bruise before or during the arrest or if it is related to another incident.

According to his charge sheet, the “belligerent” Resident Evil actor was arrested after allegedly pushing a female and knocking her to the floor.

It also states that he reportedly ripped out “fistfuls” of her hair.

All of this is said to have happened at a bar called The Goat.

As per The Sun, Mabius and a 40-year-old female began to cause a disturbance, both of whom were reportedly intoxicated.

The spokesperson added that the bartender had pleaded for the female to leave the bar multiple times, causing Mabius and the female to begin spitting on patrons.

They continued to claim that when the female was pushed to the ground, a bystander attempted to pull Mabius away.

It is also said that the female will not be pressing charges.

A spokesperson for the authorities said: “Nassau County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Eric Mabius this morning on charges of battery and resisting law enforcement without violence.”

“According to deputies, the incident occurred at The Goat on Lofton Square Ct., where Mabius and a 40-year-old woman were reportedly intoxicated and creating a disturbance.”

“Witnesses stated that after the bartender asked the female to leave multiple times, both Mabius and the woman began spitting on several patrons.”

“The situation escalated when Mabius allegedly pushed a female victim, knocking her to the ground and pulling out ‘fistfuls’ of her hair. A bystander intervened, pulling Mabius away from the victim.”

“When deputies arrived, they reported that Mabius became increasingly belligerent outside the establishment and repeatedly failed to comply with instructions to remain seated during the investigation.”

“At one point, Mabius allegedly attempted to walk behind a deputy, prompting several deputies to escort him back to a bench and place him under arrest for resisting without violence.”

“Although the victim declines to press charges, both Mabius and the female were arrested for simple battery and resisting without violence.”
