Vin Diesel took to Instagram today to share an update on the status of his massively successful Fast & Furious movie franchise, and he’s not exactly happy.
The actor shared an image of himself and Dwayne Johnson on the set of 2011’s Fast Five, who he says the movie’s writer sent him with a soft pitch for a “DOM and HOBBS” reunion.
He also shared conflicting studio demands he’s been dealing with.

He began his post by explaining, “I got universal in one ear saying we need FastX2 by March 2026!”
“I have Comcast in the other ear saying we need two movies to be the Finale!” he continued.
“Then the writer on Fast Five sent me this image (above) and said we need to see DOM and HOBBS resolve their differences.”
Just in case you haven’t dived into the franchise just yet, “DOM” is a reference to Diesel’s long-running character Dominic Toretto, who he has played since the very first movie.
“HOBBS” is a reference to Johnson’s character, Luke Hobbs.
Although it’s been a minute since fans have seen Diesel and Johnson’s characters star in the same movie, expectations are high for a reunion after years of teasing.
Johnson also starred in Fast & Furious franchise spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, in which actor Jason Statham co-starred as Deckard Shaw.

Hobbs & Shaw is also set for a sequel, however, not much on that has been shared.
Diesel also took to his social post to share his own opinion as to which direction the franchise should start driving in, expressing his desire to take it back to its roots.
“I just want to get back to real street racing,” he said.
“Practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood.”
“Happy Thanksgiving,” he concluded, as he shared his post on Thanksgiving.
