Fans of cancelled Star Wars series The Acolyte launch petition in attempt to get Season 2

The Acolyte fans, who loved the series, are now pleading for a second season after it was cancelled due to abysmal ratings and terrible reviews.

In a desperate attempt, a group of fans have started several petitions to try and keep the show alive.

A petition called ‘Renew the Acolyte’ on change.org, which has only gathered 74,000 signatures since the 20th of August, was launched in an attempt to convince Disney to revive the series.

Started by someone with the username ‘Blue Smith’, they wrote a lengthy reason to keep the show going.

“The Acolyte opened the doors for so many Star Wars fans, new and old, to feel seen,” the statement began.

“To feel welcomed and accepted by an IP and fandom that hadn’t previously been so for anyone who didn’t check off certain boxes.”

“Not only that, but The Acolyte became a beacon for representation that many fans have felt was lacking in the Star Wars universe for decades.”

“With both creators and actors that truly understood the world of Star Wars, The Acolyte quickly became a fan favorite because of the clear passion and love shown in the work, and the drive to give us something new and fresh to fall in love with.”

“New characters with new stories that still existed within the same galaxies we cherished.”

“Regardless of the orchestrated review bombing by a small faction of loud trolls, and all of the other obstacles this show had to face straight out the gate, it trended repeatedly throughout and after the show aired.”

“It has a very dedicated fanbase, willing to fight for its continuation.”

“It’s a story that deserves to be told.”

“Star Wars” fans had a lot to say about the show being cancelled, with some commenting.

“Good, we could have had a better show with cardboard cutouts, and AI voiceovers,” one wrote.

“Now there’s a surprise!! Woke rubbish fails again!” another said.

“No one liked this trainwreck and it lost 100 million. Who defends this sh*te??”

The audience score currently sits at 18% on Rotten Tomatoes and ‘Critics’ rated it at 78%.
